"Thanks to the Jim Dankerl Scholarship, I was able to begin my college career and take my first steps towards becoming a firefighter.  I used my scholarship funds to purchase my first textbooks.  Since I didn't have to worry about making money for books, I had more time to focus on what was really important.  My dream is to one day become a firefighter, and I thoroughly believe that the award I received has helped me along my way.  I have had more time to focus on studying and making a difference in my community by volunteering for Mesa Fire Department.  Thank you very much Marisol Federal Credit Union."
